Christmas & New Year in Llandudno: A Festive Break by the Sea

by | Oct 7, 2026 | About Llandudno

Christmas in Llandudno has a special kind of magic: the lights along the prom, festive shows at Venue Cymru, a bracing Boxing Day walk on the beach and cosy nights in. If you’re thinking of getting the family together this year, here’s what’s on and why a self catering holiday home makes it easy.

If you’re thinking about Christmas breaks in Llandudno, or a New Year break by the sea, here’s what to expect.

The pantomime at Venue Cymru

Panto is a Llandudno tradition. This year Venue Cymru’s Christmas pantomime is Sleeping Beauty, with Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd making his panto debut alongside local favourites John Evans and Simon Neehan. It’s hugely popular, so book tickets early.

Festive shows and markets

Venue Cymru also hosts festive shows in the run-up to Christmas, including That’ll Be Christmas (16 November) and Step Into Christmas (25 November), and the Providero Christmas Artisan Market takes place on 21 November – perfect for finding gifts from local makers.

Christmas in town

Llandudno’s Christmas Parade is usually held in early December, and in recent years the town has hosted Merry Mostyn Street – free festive music, performances and Christmas markets through December – along with a Santa Dash. Keep an eye on Llandudno Town Council and Visit Conwy for this year’s dates.

Boxing Day and New Year by the sea

Blow away the cobwebs with a walk along North Shore or round the Great Orme’s Marine Drive, then warm up in one of the town’s cosy pubs. New Year’s Eve in Llandudno is relaxed and friendly, whether you head out or see the year in at home. Why a holiday home is perfect for Christmas

Christmas is about being together, and that’s much easier when you have a proper kitchen, a dining table big enough for everyone and space to relax. Our 5-Bed House sleeps up to 10 across two apartments in the same building, so everyone gets their own space but you’re all under one roof. The 3-Bed Townhouse, with its open-plan living room, dining table for six and flame-effect fire, is made for a cosy family Christmas. For bigger groups, book both for up to 16 guests.

Festive dates book up quickly, so check availability early – and get in touch if you’d like help planning a group stay.
