Planning a Large Group Stay in Llandudno: What to Look For

by | Oct 9, 2026 | Large Group Accommodation

Getting a big group away together is harder than it sounds. Ten people rarely fit comfortably in one hotel corridor, and a house that sleeps ten on paper can feel very different once everyone arrives. If you’re planning a family get-together or a trip with friends in Llandudno, these are the things worth checking before you book.

Count bedrooms, not just beds

A listing that “sleeps 10” might mean five proper bedrooms, or it might mean three bedrooms and a lot of sofa beds. Ask how many bedrooms there are and what’s in each one. Our large group accommodation in Llandudno has five bedrooms: four doubles and a bunk room, so nobody is sleeping in the lounge.

Look for more than one bathroom

Bathrooms are where big groups come unstuck, especially in the morning. For ten people you want at least two, plus a separate toilet if you can get it. Check whether there’s a bath as well as a shower if you’re bringing young children.

Two kitchens are better than one

Self catering for a crowd means a lot of breakfasts, a lot of tea and a full fridge. A single small kitchen quickly becomes a queue. Two kitchens, or at least two fridges and a dishwasher, make a real difference. It’s also worth checking there’s a table where everyone can sit down together.

Space to be together, and space to get away

The best group stays give you somewhere to gather and somewhere to retreat to. With three generations under one roof, a second living room means the children can watch a film while the adults talk. An enclosed garden is a bonus in summer.

Check the stairs

Victorian seaside houses are tall. If anyone in your group struggles with stairs, ask which bedrooms are on which floor before you book. In our house the bedrooms are on the first and second floors, and one attic bedroom is reached by a spiral staircase with a 5ft 8in ceiling, so we always suggest that room for the more agile members of the party.

Think about parking

A group of ten usually arrives in three or four cars. Few town-centre properties in Llandudno have private parking for that many, so ask what’s available nearby. Ours has free on-street parking close by on a first come, first served basis, and once you’ve parked you can leave the cars where they are.

Stay somewhere you can walk from

Getting ten people into cars every time you want an ice cream is nobody’s idea of a holiday. A central base means people can come and go as they please. From Clifton Road it’s about 5 minutes on foot to the town centre, 10 minutes to North Shore, the pier and the promenade, and 15 minutes to the quieter West Shore.

Ask what’s included

Bed linen and towels for ten is a lot to pack, so check they’re provided. If you have little ones coming, ask about cots and high chairs too. It’s also worth knowing the house rules up front. Ours, for example, is a no-smoking, no-pets house and isn’t suitable for parties.

Family reunions and birthday get-togethers

Many of the large groups we welcome are families getting together for a reunion or a milestone birthday. For those trips, the things above matter even more: enough bedrooms for every generation, a table everyone can sit around, and a location where grandparents and children can all walk to the seafront. If you’re comparing large group accommodation in North Wales, a town-centre base in Llandudno is hard to beat for a mixed-age group.
